  • Cloth-Glass  - OVERVIEW  ±

    Glass cloth offers excellent abrasion resistance and mechanical properties, as well as high tensile strength and extreme temperature resistance.  Service temperatures range from -100°F to +500°F (-73°C to +260°C).  Highly conformable and flexible, glass cloth has the unique ability to absorb insulating varnishes, which makes them an excellent choice in the electrical market.  Applications include electrical insulation, coil and motor wrappings, and general industrial applications.

    CHR®  2905 is manufactured from heat-resistant fiberglass cloth backing coated with high-temperature silicone adhesive on both sides.  2905 has a wide variety of uses in the industrial and electrical markets.  It is most widely used as a high-temperature masking tape for metalizing or plasma spray coatings.  2905 is also used as a holding tape for components on circuit boards, inner wraps for coils and transformers, and high-temperature splicing.

     

    CHR® 2915 and 2916 are manufactured from heat-resistant fiberglass cloth backing coated with high-temperature silicone adhesive.  2915 and 2916 are very versatile tapes used for general industry electrical maintenance to high-temperature splicing and wrapping.  Some specific applications are over-wrap on motor rewinds, protective wrapping for wire and cables and high-temperature masking tape for welding stainless steel.  These tapes also perform as a light duty plasma or flame spray masking tape.

     

    CHR® G551, G561, G565, G569 tapes are manufactured from electrical grade fiberglass cloth backing coated with clear pressure-sensitive adhesive.  The G Series tapes are constructed to offer excellent solvent and flagging resistance.  The high conformance and strength/weight ratio makes this series a good candidate for oil and motor applications.

  • Cloth-Glass PTFE - OVERVIEW  +

    PTFE glass provide dimensional stability, high tensile strength and edge tear, operates over a temperature range from -100°F to +500°F (-73°C to +260°C), and offers better abrasion resistance than uncoated glass cloth.  The PTFE surface offers quick release and chemical resistance characteristics.  Anti-static PTFE glass yields improved thermal conductivity and static dissipation.  Available with silicone or acrylic adhesives, PTFE glass applications include heat sealing and low friction release surface liners for conveyors

    CHR®  23816 is manufactured from silicone rubber/fiberglass cloth backing coated with high-temperature silicone adhesive.  23816 tape is used in the plasma spray process.

     

    CHR® 2965-8R and 2975-8R are manufactured from silicone rubber/fiberglass cloth backing coated with high-temperature backing.  2965 and 2975 are used in the plasma spray process.

     

    CHR®  H7525 and H7575 (HVOF) are heavy-duty pressure-sensitive tapes used for thermal spray masking.  They are manufactured by combining multiple layers of silicone rubber, aluminum foil and fiberglass coated with aggressive high-temperature silicone adhesive.  H7525 and H7575 are used as high-temperature masking tapes in thermal spray and high velocity oxygenated fuel processes.

     

    The aerospace industry is the prime market for the use of plasma spray tapes, specifically jet engine manufacturers, overhaul centers, major airline maintenance centers, Air Force Bases, and Naval Air Rework Facilities.

  • Cloth-Glass Foil   +

    CHR®  06004 and 06005 are manufactured from a laminate of aluminum foil and silicone adhesive impregnated fiberglass cloth.  06004 is used in applications where high temperatures and/or abrasion are issues.  06005 is used to mask parts during thermal spray applications, and because of the abrasion resistance of the aluminum foil, is effective when used in the HVOF process.

     

    CHR®  2925 and 2995-11R are manufactured from aluminum foil laminated to fiberglass cloth with high-temperature silicone adhesive on one side.  2925 performs as a plasma or flame spray masking tape, allowing areas to be free of grit blasting and the plasma spray coating.  Its high-temperature resistance makes it ideal for heat and reflectant tapes, and it is used in aerospace and automotive markets as a wire harness bundling tape in engine components.  2925 is also used as a sound and vibration dampening product.  2995-11R is designed for extremely high demand thermal spray applications such as HVOF and High Detonation Systems.  It provides excellent abrasion and temperature resistance and conforms very well to a wide variety of surface configurations.
